Common questions

The things people ask us before they commission.

Straight answers, written by the people who make the books.

How much does a bespoke wedding album cost?

Every commission is different. Tell us what you are considering and we will explain the available direction before preparing a quotation.

How many photographs should go into a wedding album?

There is no fixed number. It depends on the story, the format and the way you want the book to feel. We can talk through the selection with you before design begins.

What is a lay-flat album?

Lay-flat describes a book construction designed to let an open spread sit level. We can explain the available page and binding options during your consultation.

What is the difference between a photo book and a handmade album?

A photo book is generally produced to a set format, while a handmade album is designed and assembled around the individual commission. We can explain the paper, binding and finishing options during your consultation.

Can you work with old family photographs?

Bring what you have. We can review older prints, slides or digital scans with you, help shape the selection and discuss any specialist work the source material may need.

Do you work with clients outside the UK?

Yes. We can discuss projects with clients outside the UK remotely and confirm delivery arrangements before work begins.

What is a clamshell presentation box?

A clamshell presentation box is a rigid, hinged case made to fit the finished book. It protects the book and can be finished to complement the binding.
